South India Cultural Tour
Day 1. Arrival In Chennai (Madras)

When you reach Chennai Airport (Madras Airport), a Daily Tour & Travel representative will meet you and take you to your hotel. After check-in, you can take some time to relax in your hotel room. If you feel tired after your journey, you can have some coffee to refresh yourself. In the evening, you will visit local markets in Chennai, where you can explore shopping centers and malls. Chennai is one of the new cities in which there are big brands and several shopping malls wherein visitors can shop for different things. After this visit to the market, dinner can be done at a multi-cuisine restaurant. In the evening, go back to your hotel and stay overnight.

Day 2. Chennai Sightseeing

On the second day of your South Indian Cultural Tour, you will go on a full-day city tour of Chennai. You will begin the day by going to Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. Both of these places are rich in history and culture. Having finished exploring these locations, you can continue the rest of your sightseeing in Chennai and visit some of the city's most famous attractions. These include Elliot's Beach, Government Museum and National Art Gallery, Kapaleeswarar Temple, Marina Beach, Santhome Cathedral Basilica, Sri Parthasarathy Temple, Valluvar Kottam, Covelong Beach and Arignar Anna Zoological Park. All these destinations hold significance as each educates visitors regarding the historical, architectural, and natural aspects of Chennai. After a full day of sightseeing, you can enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. You will end the day by returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3. Chennai To Madurai

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will be escorted by our representative to Chennai Airport to board your flight to Madurai. When you arrive at Madurai Airport, a representative of Daily Tour & Travel will welcome you and drive you to your hotel. After check-in and some rest, you will begin your tour of Madurai. In the evening, you will visit Meenakshi Temple and witness the Aarti ceremony of lights, chants, and prayers. After the temple visit, you can have your dinner at a renowned restaurant in Madurai. You will return to the hotel for the night.

Day 4. Madurai To Periyar

On the fourth day of the Kerala and Tamil Nadu tour package, you'll head to Periyar after a hearty breakfast. This journey by road, covering a distance of about 146 km (approx.), from Madurai to Periyar, may take three or four hours to cover. Then you will enter your hotel, rest, and explore the place on a sightseeing tour of Periyar. In the evening, you can ride a boat around Periyar Lake. Throughout the trip, you will catch up with sights such as the view of wild animals such as the elephant and the deer moving with other birdlife. A large number of visitors visit Kerala during the summer periods for boat trips. At around dinner time, you can go to a renowned restaurant before coming back to spend the night at your hotel.

Day 5. Periyar - Kumarakom

You will go by road from Periyar to Kumarakom on the fifth day of your South Indian Cultural Tour after you have your breakfast. This drive will take around three hours (approx). On reaching Kumarakom, you will check into your hotel and rest. Later, you will visit Vembanad Lake, which is a very popular tourist destination due to its peaceful environment. You can take photographs and enjoy the view. Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and see the variety of local and migratory birds. Visit Pathiramanal Island and see some of the local areas in Kumarakom in the evening. You can have dinner at a local restaurant and spend an overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 6. Kumarakom - Cochin

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will go for a backwater cruise in Alleppey, known for its canals, lagoons, and backwaters. A backwater cruise is one of the top things to do on this South Indian Cultural Tour. In the afternoon, you'll go to Kochi. There, you check into your hotel and rest, then visit the Kerala Folklore Theatre & Museum and Kerala Kathakali Centre to learn something about Kerala culture. You are also going to visit Wonderla Amusement Park, Mattancherry, and Santa Cruz Basilica. Following this, dinner can be done at a very good restaurant, and you are going to reach the hotel afterward and stay for the night there.

Day 7. Cochin - Departure

You can enjoy your breakfast at the hotel on the final day of your Kerala and Tamil Nadu tour package. You will visit the Museum of Art after breakfast as it will allow you to view the history and cultural heritage of Kerala. If you have extra time at your disposal during the visit, you can also see other exhibits and study more about such traditions. Later, our representative from Daily Tour & Travel will take you to the airport in a private air-conditioned car. You will board your flight home, thus ending your South Indian Cultural Tour with us.
